The 2026/27 challenge
Get ready to explore the living systems that make our planet thrive in the BIOGLOW Robot Game. Your team will journey through a dynamic rainforest and nearby city, discovering how plants, animals, fungi and people are connected.
As you take on exciting missions, you will uncover hidden relationships beneath the forest floor, observe species in their natural habitats, and discover how ecosystems grow, adapt and recover.
BIOGLOW is part of the FIRST® CANOPY™ season and was released worldwide on 4 August 2026. The UAE runs the Founders Edition, built on LEGO® Education SPIKE™ technology, across two categories: Explore and Challenge.
Getting started
Most schools go from first enquiry to a running robot in about six weeks. Here is the sequence we take every new UAE team through.
Explore for ages 6–10, Challenge for ages 9–16.
Place your order for the BIOGLOW Explore or Challenge kit from us, if you have not already.
Use the registration form to register your team coach and team participants.
Attend the online Coaches Orientation. Keep and eyeout for the dates and keep your queries ready to ask during the orientation.

The UAE programme runs the two Founders Edition categories. Each has its own kit, its own judged sessions and its own event format.
Young learners explore engineering fundamentals through hands-on building, coding, teamwork and creative problem-solving, powered by LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential or WeDo 2.0. Teams finish the season by presenting their model and poster at a festival — celebrated, not ranked.
Teams design, program and test autonomous robots while researching real-world problems and developing innovative solutions with LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime. Alongside the robot game, teams present an Innovation Project and are assessed on FIRST® Core Values.

Every UAE regional event runs in January 2027. Teams are placed at a regional when registration is confirmed — you do not choose your own date, but tell us if travel makes a particular venue difficult and we will do what we can.
Venues and reporting times are confirmed to registered coaches by email closer to each event. Dates are correct as announced; if anything shifts we will notify coaches directly and update this page.
